Challenge Samarkand – your first race in the heart of ancient Asia
Samarkand is an ancient historical city, known all over the world for its unique culture, delicious food, incredible architecture and hospitable people.
This city has been hosting international races for several years now – such as Asia Triathlon Cup 2022 and 2023, as well as Asia Para Triathlon Championships 2023.
This time, but in the Challenge race, the route will take athletes to explore the brightest parts of this beautiful city, spread out all its advantages and give only the most positive impressions.
The swimming stage will take place in one of the largest rowing canals in the world! It is filled with the purest running mountain water, which will be a great start to the race for athletes.
The cycle stage of the race is one of its brightest details. Starting at the Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Complex, the route will take athletes on a real journey through time, where they will cross the most important historical monuments of ancient architecture, while observing their contrast with modernity.
The route of the Middle distance will touch upon such monuments as the Registan ensemble – one of the most famous monuments of Central Asia, the architectural monument of Bibi-Khanum, built in 1399-1404; the ancient Afrosiab market and much more, and then the modern streets of Samarkand will pass.
The running stage will take place on the territory of the modern tourist complex “Silk Road Samarkand” and will go around the rowing canal, as well as affect a special part of the complex – the Eternal City, recreating the atmosphere of antiquity in modern realities.
