What do you know about Samarkand Rowing Canal?
Samarkand Rowing canal was built at the end of last century and is located at the outskirts of Samarkand, in the Silk Road tourist complex. This is the only sports facility of this type and size in Central Asia, and only has two similar canals in the world. The rowing canal’s length is 2215 meters, 130 meters in width and is situated 702 meters above the sea level. It is mainly used for kayak and canoe rowing training and tournaments, different local and international competitions, as well as the swim stage in triathlon races.
The rowing canal is filled with clear running water, and will become a great start of the race for the athletes.
